“Track the trace- Bauhauslerin Tamae Ohno-” (2023) on a Japanese woman who studied at the Bauhaus Berlin that was forced to close due to the political pressure by the Nazis.

This work is based on a research that conducted in Berlin in 2022.

Tamae Ohno, former student at the Bauhaus Berlin, has not been well known in Japan for a long time. There are several reasons that occurred due to social conditions at that time, and women’s position in society. This work tells one female artist’s story who was tossed around by fate.

本作品は、ナチスの政治的圧力により閉鎖を余儀なくされたベルリンのバウハウスで学んだ日本人女性「大野玉枝」に関する作品である。この作品は、2022年にベルリンで行われた調査に基づいている。

ベルリン・バウハウスで学んだ大野は、日本でも長い間あまり知られてこなかった。その背景には、当時の社会状況や女性の立場が関わっていた。この作品は、運命に翻弄された一人の女性アーティストの物語である。
